Ornge Air Ambulance’s Golf Classic Raises Funds for Weeneebayko Area Health Authority’s Redevelopment Project
Nobleton, ON – Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) is proud to announce that Ornge’s annual Air Ambulance Golf Classic, held on Monday, June 16th at the scenic Nobleton Lakes Golf Club, raised a record amount in support of WAHA’s Redevelopment Project.
The final total is still being calculated, however, it’s estimated more than $30,000 was raised through the event, including an anonymous $10,000 donation.
With over 140 enthusiastic participants, the annual event brought together supporters, community members, and sponsors for a day of fun, fundraising, and a shared commitment to health equity in the James Bay and Hudson Bay region.
The event was once again spearheaded by Joshua McNamara, Corporate Communication Lead and Dean Mandos, Project Manager at Ornge. Ornge has held the Golf Classic for six years. For the past three years, proceeds have gone toward WAHA’s Redevelopment Project. Speaking about the importance of this cause, McNamara stated:
“Ornge is thrilled to be able to build on our long-standing partnership with WAHA and help raise funds towards the Redevelopment Project. The Air Ambulance Golf Classic is an opportunity to continue to shed light on this important initiative and the impact to patients in the region. We would like to extend sincere thanks to the generous sponsors, volunteers and many participants who made this event possible.”
Lynne Innes, WAHA President and CEO, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ornge Air Ambulance for its continued support, which will be directed to improving healthcare for residents, the majority of whom are First Nations, in the James Bay and Hudson Bay region.
